Everyone is an Artist: Visual Arts in SSD Roundtable (Copy)

We believe that “Everyone is an Artist” and that all students deserve visual arts as part of their school day. Right now in Sunnyvale School District, most students in TK-2nd grade are guaranteed only 3 hours of dedicated visual arts instruction per year. From 3rd grade, the amount of visual arts instruction varies based on individual student, teacher, and school site decisions.

We can do more – and so we’ve invited arts educators, local artists, leads from visual arts program exemplars, and district leaders to come together with us and community members to hear ideas, consider solutions, and work together to expand visual arts opportunities for our students.

Join us on Tuesday, November 17, 5:30-7 p.m.  for a roundtable on "Expanding Visual Arts in the Sunnyvale School District."

💡Get Inspired by exemplars of visual arts programming – including SPARK at Cherry Chase, Fine Arts Mini Experience (FAME) at Cumberland, and You are the Artist (YATA) at Ellis

🎨 Connect with local artists, arts educators, and advocates – including Ms. Deepti from Art Circle Studio and Christina Ballantyne of Sunnyvale School District

📈Get Ready to expand visual arts for all SSD students

🍽️Light refreshments provided

This Roundtable is FREE but your RSVP is appreciated
